Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actress, singer and songwriter for a number of years. Her family was home-schooled by her mother, within the USA. Her childhood was filled with racist insults, she was made to feel unwanted. She began to gain confidence in the ninth grade when she entered a school audition and was highly praised by the judges for her vocal ability. The experience not only increased her confidence, but it was also a change in the direction she pursued in her professional career. In the year 22 she graduated at the Julliard School of New York. At the age of 23 years old, she launched her professional career on Broadway in the Paul Simon musical The Capeman. Then, aged 23, her movie debut was You've got mail. But her biggest break came when she appeared in the character in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the first Broadway show Spamalot winning not just the Tony Award for her performance as well as a lot of critical praise. In the following year she was cast in the role of the character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her becoming more famous. An accomplished singer, she's also produced one single and an extended work. She's also an activist who fights in the fight for LGBT rights.
