Zoe-perry
Perry is the daughter of actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. On her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne (in flashback) Her mother portrayed Jackie Harris in two of Perry's early TV appearances. Perry was forbidden to perform by her parents until the age of adulthood because they were afraid of the anxiety it could cause. Perry claimed that she felt timid to perform in high school but began acting in the theater at Northwestern University as a way to connect with people following her transfer from Boston University. Perry when she graduated from Boston University, relocating in New York in search of the role on TV. Perry was able to land small roles in TV shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Then, homelessness caused her to move to California to pursue theater opportunities. In 2013 she performed in The Other Place on Broadway along with her mother. She performed with her father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in the year 2015 at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry played a role in 9 episodes of The Family, an ABC thriller The Family in 2016. She had a regular role in the ABC Drama about politics Scandal that starred her dad. She was also cast in her role on the CBS show The Big Bang Theory spin-off Young Sheldon as a version younger Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. The role was given an audition to the actress, even though there is a connection between her family with the role.
