Zoe-perry

Perry is the father of Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry, a director. In her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne (in flashback) Her mother portrayed Jackie Harris in two of Perry's first television roles. Her parents, however, did not permit her to perform until she was an adult because of the impact stress might have on their daughter. Perry was shy throughout high school and was not a performer. Her first acting experience was at Northwestern University to gain friends when she transferred from Boston University. Perry following her graduation from Boston University, relocated from Boston to New York in search of acting roles on television. She landed small parts in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, homesickness caused her to move to California to pursue theater opportunities. In 2013, she was a part of The Other Place on Broadway alongside her mother. She performed with her father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 with the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. In 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes on ABC's drama The Family. Perry played a prominent role in the ABC politics drama Scandal with her dad. In the same year, she got a role as a young counterpart to Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again as a younger counterpart to her mother's role. The character was assigned an audition to the actress, even though there is a connection between her family to the role.
