Zoe-perry

Perry is daughter to actors Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. On the ABC sitcom Roseanne (in flashback) her mother played Jackie Harris in two of Perry's early TV appearances. However, her parents did not want her to pursue acting until she became an adult and was worried about the impact of stress. Perry was shy in high-school and wasn't a good actor. The actress began her acting career in the year 2000 at Northwestern University to gain friends upon her transfer to the university from Boston University. Perry was a graduate of Boston University, relocating in New York in search of acting roles on television. The actress was offered small roles in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Then, homelessness led her to California for theater roles. In 2013 she performed in The Other Place on Broadway together with her mom. In 2015, she starred together with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prizewinning drama Anna Christie. It is part of the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry made an appearance in 9 episodes on ABC's drama The Family during 2016. Perry played a prominent role in the ABC politics drama Scandal that starred her dad. In the same year, she was chosen to portray a younger counterpart to Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again acting as a younger version her mother's role. Despite having a family connection to the character, she was offered the part via audition.
